Winter Sales Manager

The Winter Sales Manager will work closely with the tour operators, corporate planners, and relevant clubs to promote Sun Valley Resort and encourage business. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Meet and exceed revenue goals by promoting and selling to group market in defined geographic region with a profitable win-win selling approach. Manage lift ticket and lodging contracts.
  • Generate hotel awareness through direct phone sales; direct sales calls, tradeshows, and networking groups.
  • Work closely with sales and marketing team to solicit, sell, and confirm group business required to meet sales goals.
  • Adapt to changes of policy, procedures, or work environment as needed.
  • Develop accounts (new and existing) by mapping specific business and buying tendencies.
  • Perform daily telephone solicitations to new and existing accounts/customers in defined geographic region.
  • Respond in a timely manner to all leads, RFP's, phone calls, and emails.
  • Promote awareness to corporate, incentive and association markets via travel to respective regions in the country providing presentations and personal sales calls.
  • Procure new and repeat business for the hotel by building relationships and staying in contact with Convention and Visitors Bureaus, Travel Agencies, National Sales Offices, and with professional associations within defined geographic region. 
  • Create and execute direct sales plan specific to market assignment.
  • Conduct tours of property to meeting planners and other potential customers on property, during sit inspections, pre-planning trips and program operation when appropriate. 
  • Work closely with conference services and CSM- be promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters so corrective action can be taken where appropriate. 
  • Coordinate all sales related activity through the direction of Sales; negotiate contract specifics to achieve maximum profitability while satisfying customer needs.
  • Conduct all sales related interactions with the highest level of professionalism while maintaining specified Sun Valley Company standards.
  • Assist with all guest inquiries within the sales department, including assisting with high telephone volume and walk in site inspections.
  • Meet with groups on property to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Participate in Sales blitzes and FAM tours.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  •  Sales experience, preferably at a four-season luxury property, ski resort, and/or Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
  • Ability to learn OPERA an account management system, previous experience with OPERA preferred.

  • Knowledge of local and regional competition a plus.
