PC and Desktop Support Intern

Our Help Desk Support Team assists customers who are experiencing any procedural or operating difficulty with the use of IT applications, products or services. Complex and/or high priority problems are elevated to specialized support groups for resolution when needed. The PC and Desktop Support Intern is responsible  for assisting with this process and ensuring that an effective solution is provided to the user with a focus of positive and helpful customer service.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:​

  • Provide help desk support and resolve problems to the end user’s satisfaction
  • Monitor and respond quickly and effectively to requests received through the IT help desk with special focus on customer service.
  • Monitor Service Desk for tickets assigned to the queue and process first-in first-out based on priority
  • Modify configurations, utilities, software default settings, etc. for the local workstation
  • Utilize and maintain tickets in the help desk tracking software
  • Setting up new users as approved by management
  • Ensure each workstation has a computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse, hard drive, and any additional specialized equipment
  • Assist with the install, test and configuration of new workstations, peripheral equipment and software
  • Report issues to the Service Desk for escalation
  • Provide IT support for special events and functions including setup and take-down of point-of-sale (POS) terminals & systems
  • Assist with the maintenance of our Active Directory
  • Perform timely workstation hardware and software upgrades as required

Education and/or Experience:                                         

Two to four years relevant technical training and experience preferred

Computer Skills:                                                       

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office, Various Browsers. Experience with VMware, VDI, Active Directory, DNS, basic TCPIP network working and Storage Area Network is beneficial. The position also requires knowledge of Microsoft Windows 7 and above as well as Point of Sale terminals.
